Some Ofsted Advice - from Raymond
The Moats Guarder asked for help in dealing with the
offhishead dyslector.
The following is designed to deal with him/her upon his/her
immediate arrival therebye avoiding having to structure mystical
lesson plans:
"Our school's cross-graded, mutliethnic, individualised
learning programme is designed to enhance the concept of an open-ended
learning programme with emphasis on a continuum of multiethnic
academically enriched learning using the identified
intellectually gifted child as the agent or director of his own
learning.
" Major emphasis is on cross-graded multiethnic learning
with the main objective being to learn respect for the uniqueness
of a person."
Say the above quickly and confidentally as if you take it for
granted he/she will know exactly what you mean adding "as
you are aware, this is in accordance with government policy with
which I know you are familiar" whilst at the same time
gently steering him/her to the exit.
If he/she asks "where are we going" you can tell him/her
you are approaching:
" . . . that portion of our learning emporium which is
itself but a portion of a means of egress which is separated from
all spaces of the building or structure by construction or
equipment as required to
provide a protected way of travel to the exit discharge."
Should he/she demand clarification of 'egress' (as a bird of prey
himself 'twould be only natural, perhaps) you can clarify things
by telling him/her it is .
. .
" . . . a continuous and unobstructed way of exit travel
from any point in a building or structure to a public or private
way and consists of three parts: the way of exit access, the exit
and the way of exit
discharge."
